Guest Johne71
Do you do any training or just let them do their thing? Link to comment
Guest Josh1717
@Johne71 I like to do some bending of main stem to help push the younger colas Up to my screen that’s about it. This will also be the first time I haven’t topped a plant. So we shall see. She is about to hit trellis in a week I feel like, so I’ll be weaving her for the next 2 weeks or until she fills out 80% then I’ll flip her Link to comment
Guest Johne71
You’re well ahead of me. My seedling (three Grape Pupil) just finished their seedling stretch. Kept them close so they didn’t get too lanky. Just dropped the Goji Pupil in a plug after it shot a small sprout. I don’t grow too many at once but damn...trying to clone, reverse plants, all adds up in a hurry. Link to comment

Guest Josh1717
Update she is now in trellis training started about a day or two ago. I had snapped these pics right after watering so that’s why you see some clawing. Link to comment

Guest Josh1717
Hey guys & gals I hope everyone is doing well. I added some more pics. I apologize for my absence. I started a new hobby, mycology which has been taking a lot of my time. Anyways, the last week or so I have been battling some burning from excess K. I now realize I shouldn’t have used the high quality Colorado worm company castings in the mix. I should have used just compost instead like Bu Blend and top dress the castings. But what done is done and now I know. So to combat this problem I have stopped all inputs and have only been giving her calcium and micro nutrients. For calcium I have been using gypsum and for micros i have used jus one dose today actually of some big 6 from build a soil. If anyone has anymore questions I will do my best answer them. The most recent pic is 4th from bottom. Link to comment
Guest Johne71
Looking like a nice recovery and filling up your scrog perfectly. Link to comment
Coastal
Looking good! Raising your ph up to 6.8-7 will make them take in less K and more Ca... but they will probably eat up a lot of that during stretch anyways.. Link to comment
Chief Kief
Looks awesome. How many plants are there? Those are growing fast! Filling the screen perfectly. Link to comment
Guest Josh1717
@Chief Kief just one man. I grabbed the smallest seed out of one of my putang packs. Link to comment
Guest Josh1717
@Coastal didn’t think about that because I have never ph anything. I personally never mess around with ph. When I first started researching growing than organics a lot of sources said that the peat moss and all the microbe activity after all its a living soil will do the buffering for you. But I’m also sure drenching with perfectly exact ph won’t hurt anything either Link to comment
Guest Josh1717
Hello everyone! We are currently on day 11 today which just ended. New growth is looking healthy. Stems are nice and green. I’m using a 13/11 light cycle. For some reason I still have some light colored leaves. I’m not sure if that’s because they won’t be perfectly healthy after stress I have caused her with the K excess or if something is still missing. The week before flower I gave a Alfalfa tea and some microbes every 2 weeks from Rootwise it’s called bio-pho’s along with enzymes from them. That’s about it. She has also been getting gypsum every other watering to help with the K excess since phos and calcium get locked out basically that’s what happend in my case. The stretch is going well. She is around 4ft from the soil and growing an inche or so daily. I would love to here some input on what you guys might think is going on with the lighter colored leaves near the top. The lowers are fine as you can see which tells me she isn’t deficient in Nitrogen. Anyway thanks for looking, and I hope everyone is doing good and staying safe! Link to comment
Kind024
Hi @Josh1717, thats a big beautiful plant! Shes going to stuff that tent! I've seen plants look similar to that when the light was too intense. A plant will withhold the production of chlorophyll when it can't process the amount of available light. I've seen it again when something is out of balance in the water. Along with calcium lockout. Could be Mg deficiency...magnesium has a low mobility and shows its deficiency in the younger leaves first. Magnesium is also the central molecule in chlorophyll. Which could be why the plant is having a hard time making it. Foliar application is the most direct way to feed a plant. Do you have horsetail available? Horsetail has Mg...silica, selenium, manganese too. Spinach and kale has high levels of Mg too. You could use any or some of all and make a broth stock. About 2 cups of chopped leaves per 1 quart of clean water. Take it to a boil and reduce to a simmer for 10 mins. Let cool in the fridge. Mix 1:3 parts with clean water and spray. If you dont want to spray anything directly on the flowers you can water it in too. I would stop the gypsum applications if you havent yet too. Just a few thoughts. I'm sure some other folks will chim in with more advice for you. Thank you for sharing the experience. It's a good one! Link to comment
Pupilfam
Looks really nice! It kind of seems like it might be getting a little bit too much light intensity, what are your PAR levels at? Link to comment
Guest Josh1717
I sent back my hydro farm meter because it was displayed wrong readings I’m saving for a new one. But it’s a 4x4 tent with 6 cobs running at 100% and are the the very top of the tent. The gypsum feedings have stopped. I feel confident that nutrients In the soil are now in check I believe she is just hungry I’ll give her some K and apply craft blend from build a soil as top dress around week 4 when she could really use the food to build the buds up. Anyway thanks for everyones input. For some reason notifications were going to spam box so that’s why it took a big long for a reply. Link to comment
Guest Josh1717
@Kind024i forgot to mention I don’t have horsetail but I do have silica and will try and application with that as root drench since I don’t like to spray anything in flower. I really appreciate you taking the time to write up that response! Link to comment
