Good Day!   #1 and #2 are still not verified on sex.....#3 is a female.....and she is a stunner.  I bit of a different color than the rest.   All stalks are thick and taking the winds and thunderstorms in stride.

Smells are still typical of a vegging canna plant...no berry tones just yet....there is a subtle smell of rubber to #3.   Overall I am impressed and smitten-ed by the expressions of these plants so far.

Looking good, my friend. Mine have become cellar dwellers and won't have to worry about the weather which has been very erratic.

#1 and #2 have shown to be male.   Cuts have been taken of all plants and they are rooted and healthy.    The males will be culled and fermented for 2 weeks and then fed to the female.  I am really enjoying these plants and I am going to pick another pack up for sure.

Bad luck on the gender, but really good looking plants. Have not figured mine out yet but hopefully soon. They are stretching hard right now.

Here she is thickening up and stretching just a bit more.  She was given a gentle de-foilation, lolli-popping each stem.  Main stem is broomstick thick, and each branch is magic marker thick.  Smells are a rubber like chem, and fruity undertones, but the fruitiness seems to becoming more and more fragrant each morning.

Her feed has consisted of:   Date Nectar, Coconut Water, Prickley Pear Juice, and a top dress of Dairy Doo.

IPM has consisted of: chili pepper, garlic mix as well as a Neem, Lavander, Tea Tree and Eucalyptus spray.

1 Life.  1 Love.

crazy thick stocks!

I new these are very robust plants but wow, those will certainly be able to support a lot of weight come late flowering 🙂

When does flowering get underway in your climate @GoodEnergyGrower ?

looks like she might be in preflower now?

@Tynehead Tom  Flowering has indeed started on some strains here.  She is for sure transitioning from pre flower to flower.....probably will really start to show after this full mooon.

Here are pics of the males, that I still have not culled.  They have been in a building with windows and little airflow for the past week, and it didn't seem to bother them.   Since there was a drizzle outside I pulled them out to get fresh air and some pics.   As soon as pollen is collected they will be culled.

Chunk D #1 (Male)  *appears to be a Deep Chunk pheno.  Smells a bit woodsy and spicy.  The floral cluster of pollen sacks are compact.  This stem is thick at the base and very sturdy side branching.  This plant has stayed very stout, almost no stretch.

Chunk D #2 (Male) *appears to be a Atomic NL pheno and a sibling to #3.  Smells of burnt rubber and kush.

Chunk D #1 and #2 side by side

Chunk D #3 (Female) *just beginning to flower.   No identifiable smells as of yet.  Branching is symmetrical, classic pine tree shape.

Sorry for the lack of updates, it has been raining or dark when I have a chance to get pics.

-  The males have been chopped down and the chickens enjoyed the plant and the root ball.  The stems were more hollow than the stem flesh was thick....wow.  The males pollen made it to a few plants.  I kept a cut of the Chunk D #1, because the floral structure on him was compact, fast and frosty 🙂     Looking forward to using him on some sativas and whispy hazes and such.

-  The Female, Chunk D #3 was later than most of the plants outdoors this year to start it's floral swell.  It is along with a blue dream cross that has the same timing.  But if the males were an indication she will finish on time with the others.

-  No mold, mildew or pest populations were found.   Wasps, ladybugs and praying mantis's seem to enjoy the canopy of this plant, especially during these thunderstorms, which has been beneficial in keeping unwanted insects.

-  Smells are yet to be identified.   Waiting on drier weather.

She is a monster for sure.  She stands about 7 feet from the ground to top.  If I put this plant in a garden bed next year, she would absolutely be over 10 feet.   Also, very sturdy, it is completely unnecessary to stake this plant, she holds her own 100%.

Only 5 days have gone by since last post and she is swelling fast, catching up to the rest.   Sweet smelling fruits coming through on the nose.   Strong branching.
