Prg skunk project

I was gifted a few hundred skunk seeds that have been in a freezer since the mid 80's.

germ test went well with 21/25 growing well.

I have no background on these other than it was some stinky bad ass buds back in the day. The seeds are from open pollination so there should be plenty of verity in the mix.

Damn... That’s an 84% germination rate on at least 35 year old seed. Well done @Smokin Joe, can’t wait to see this action. Here’s to many Phenos and  “May The Skunks be with you..”

Nice to see seeds pop that were freezer stored for so long. It's how i am storing all my long term stuff.

Gives me hope for the old stuff I have stored that was gifted to me too

Unfortunately nothing... I manually opened a few and they are a bit orange instead of the nice white seeds this fresh should be.. damn house fires!.. guessing my other old ones are pretty cooked too.. hopefully I gave enough out to find a few back.. I have some but not stored well.. 2011stock..

Little up date. There is plenty of vigor in these babies. They are just starting to show sex so I figured I'd post some picks before the nut cutting begins.

That is some serious defoliagization @Smokin Joe.  Do you always strip them that much?  Look forward to seeing how they respond.

Hell thats nothing lol. I get fucking brutal with an unruly bitch :kitty:

but yes I do that quite often to keep may tables from getting over grown.

I just did this today and I'd bet this time next week you can't tell I touched em and they will need it again a week after that when I take cuts

You leave much more than I do.  I'm rather aggressive with my gals.

I bonsai mine for my small flower space though.

Plants look(ed) great 🙂   You don't top them?

It became a “how good of compost do skunk plants produce” project

The ones that we put in flower hermed and almost screwed up a room for us.

They all got janked out.

And that sucked, cause they had nice flowers on em. No skunk smell though

@jm420

@Twisted sorry for the delayed (if four months is a delay) response

lol

But if ya want feedback on the new project, they broke down just fine 😜

With all the chicken/cow shit we threw on em, they got closer to that skunk smell. Lol

@fly007 it may have been due to them being an outdoor strain.

I just had to chop on of the x-18 females in my preservation run when it threw a few bananas.  I was talking with @farmerjoe420 about what may have been the stressor since all the other plants are fine.  He suggested with it being an old outdoor strain just running it indoors could be a stressor for the strain.

I've got a couple more skunk runs planned too but have a few other things to do first.
